Self Intrudoction Greetings to everyone reading this comment, I’m Doug currently living in New Taipei City. I'm starting my first year in the Department of English at the university with “0000000” as my student number. From others’ perspectives, I’m probably quiet and weird. I would agree with anyone thinking like that. Because being a part of the English dept. while denying reading any formal literature is certainly abnormal from my point of view. I also partook in a course called Programming 101. The intention is pretty evident now. I want to learn as comprehensively as I can in my four years at college and unrestrainedly explore the field that I rarely had a chance to step into in senior high school. As for the hobbies, I would go for the classic and unfailing ‘’ listen to music’’. However, I only listen to EDM and Japanese music. The rhythm and lyrics of these two types of music are far more intriguing to me than Chinese ones. Moreover, according to my Japanese teacher, listening to music is one of the best ways to get acquainted with the fundamental letters in Japanese swiftly. Lastly, I enjoy learning state-of-the-art technology as well. I'm excited to be living in the dormitory after taking advantage of a vacant bed assignment. I come from New Taipei City but unfortunately, there isn't an MRT station near my apartment complex. I usually have to spend at least one and a half hours commuting to and from NCCU. It is my freshman year here in the English Department. In the field of English Studies, I gained interest in Literature and certain branches of Linguistics, such as Semantics(Maybe I’m wrong about this since I have not started learning yet); therefore, I anticipate facing the challenge of extensive reading and writing in the coming years. The oral training class is also important for me because hadn’t sharpened my spoken English until 4 months ago the upcoming interview for enrolling at universities forced me to work on it. In my leisure time, I enjoy watching the anime, listening to music, or playing billiards as well as basketball with my high school friends. I like English and Japanese pop songs equally and often listen to beatbox music, too (yet I can’t do it, just appreciate) Lastly, I’m looking forward to my new life at university and also getting to know many new classmates!
